Abstract

This document contains: stuff that I've found while reading
[bray paoli sperberg 98]; and my opinion about it.
The elements are classified by bloatedness-kind.
My silly hyphenizing of everything is just because I am a LISP
native speaker. :-)

Please note that some of the following things-not-good in XML are such
because one goal of XML is backwards-compatible with SGML, which is a
valid reason. Please also note that "good" is relative to the author's
tastes and values.

Section 1

1.1. Things better handled as block-types as part of a standard DTD,
instead of polluting the low-level tokenizing (lexing) of the documents.

XML:2.5. Comments.
XML:2.6. Processing Instructions.
XML:2.8a. Prolog.
XML:2.8b. Document Type Declaration.

etc...

1.2. Complete syntactic sugar that is not so much useful.

XML:2.7. CDATA Sections.
