NOTE: Make sure you have development files for gtk+ 2.0 before
compiling. This includes associated packages like Pango.

Type "make" to compile xpad.

Type "make install" as root to install the binary to /usr/local/bin.
Or, just copy the executable "xpad" to where ever you want.

If you're upgrading from a previous version of xpad, be aware that
xpads v0.2 and up have a new file-naming system. Old notes will
not carry over, and you're free to delete old note files.
This will not be done for you, and since previous versions
of xpad had some issues with leaving dangling files, you
might want to do so.

IF YOU ARE USING WINDOWS OR BEOS
You will need a working installation of GTK+ 2 as well as the GNU
compilation tools like make and gcc. If you get this working and
would like to share your binaries, please email us at
xpad-devel@lists.sourceforge.net and let us know. We are very
interested in testing our cross-platform support.
