v1.2:

Fixed textutils version check again. I think I have all the corner cases covered now
Added new arch code for S390.
Fixed the arch code for sparc.
Added "alert" functionality, so that prtdiag can send you an email if it detects a temperature overheat/failure or fan failure.
This lead to the following enhancements:
- The fan heuristics were rewritten to be more generic
- The temperature heuristics were rewritten to be more generic
- prtdiag will look for prtdiag.cfg (its alert config file) in /etc or ~ when its run with the -A option (for alert mode)
- It will do alerts for the first 5 sensors/fans found by lm_sensors

v1.1:

Josh Glover caught (and fixed) the following bugs:

- wc version check is not fair to versions greater than 2.0.8, but with a last digit less than 8
- aliases may be tab-separated, code does not take this into account
- script should use output from 'dmesg' instead of '/var/log/dmesg', since the latter may not exist

Then, I caught (and fixed) one more bug:

- wc version check doesn't handle old GNU lettering sanely

v1.0:

Initial release.
