NEWS ABOUT TEA
TEA 8.0, 06 march 2005
http://tea.linux.kiev.ua

Hello, hello, hello. What do you think about that version diarrhea of TEA? Some projects doesn't reach 1.0 during the years, but TEA changes the major part of a version every month or so. Why? Because it develops rapidly, that's why. If there are many new features, why I should call a new version like pre-0.2.3.4? It's a nonsense.

What's new? Czech manual and UI translation Zbynek Mrkvicka. The Czech encoding autodetection was added. German UI updated by Ruediger Arp, Serbian UI updated by Dejan Cabrilo and Ukrainian UI updated by Vlad Svetlichny. Thanks a lot!

The English manual is updated and internally converted to Docbook (and of course this manual is accessible in HTML).

TEA now supports archieved files (gz, zip, bz2, tar.gz, tar.zip, tar.bz2) with some limitations (read the fine manual). Also TEA provides a set of useful new tools for Wikipedia, Docbook and LaTeX content editing. The Markup menu now contains a lot of new stuff and the mode switcher. For example, to work with Docbook markup, simple choose Docbook from Markup mode menu.

Some more words about LaTeX. TEA becomes a LaTeX-aware editor. I started to use LaTeX for myself and really felt in love with that DTP thing. Please look inside of LaTeX menu - you can find there tools for LaTeX processing and converting. From there you can also preview dvi, PDF or PS files that was made from your LaTeX source.

TEa 8.0 presents the built-in thumbnailed image browser Imageplane (it is accessible from the View menu). Imageplane shows images in the directory of the current file. From Imageplane you can view pictures in a full size or insert them into the document. TEA 8.0 also provides to you the Calendar window with some useful functions.

For other details read Changelog, The Manual and explore TEA. Bye.
