	starting a game midway through an SGF file

2003-04-16
	* talk.h: added loadsgf to GTP commands enum
	* gtp.c: added loadsgf support to gtp_send_command
	* aihandle.c: calls loadsgf if appropriate
	* gui_goboard.c: 'play' button doesn't necessarily attempt new
	game but will play on from current position; 'back' button now
	reads setup properties if required
	* gui_dialogs.c: fixed bug where new game wasn't restoring initial
	position properly

2003-04-15 v0.0.11:
	* piper.c: removed misleading comments about dup; added call to
	fcntl to set read pipe non-blocking,
	* gtp.c: calls callback while waiting for response in _gtp_listen
	* talk.c: added pointer to callback function to talker struct
	* aihandle.c: initialises talkers with callback; added wait_for_ai
	routine to check if we are in wait state with either talker
	* gui_goboard.c: sends prod_gtk as callback to talker struct, pass
	and resign buttons disabled while waiting, block-on-read problem
	now fixed, some of the consequences of 'gui action now
	meaningless' also fixed, requirement to click board between moves
	in computer/computer games now removed, several bugs in sgf
	navigation fixed
	* gui_dialogs.c: added code to disable file loading while not in
	edit mode. Save *should* be ok.
	* gui_actions.c: no New game in the middle of a game.
	* gui_settings.c: bring up only Display settings if in middle of
	game.
	* sgf.c: fixed broken sgf_ff routine, added sgf_movecount routine,
	fixed several bugs in sgf navigation

2003-04-10 v0.0.10:
	* sgftree.c: changed SGFCOLOUR to gint from gchar so it will still
	work on systems that don't like passing gchar through va_args;
	added support for SGF files that implement 'B' and 'W' as '1' and
	'2' respectively, not that this is in either FF[1] or FF[3], but
	hoshi.sgf has it; fixed brain-bogglingly stupid bug in
	free_sgfvalue.
	* sgf.c: changed SGFCOLOUR to gint as above.

2003-04-06 v0.0.9:
	* sgftree.c: made max length of text buffers 64K; added support
	for proper reading of trees and variations to parser; figured out
	method of having standalone compilable version for testing - see
	note above main(); newline handling fixed so it actually works
	this time
	* sgf.c: rewritten sgf navigation to go by node, not by move, and
	to be agnostic about which tree/variation it is in; added
	variation navigation; added support for almost all SGF game info
	properties plus all move or node annotations
	* gui_goboard.c: variation toggle button added; settings button
	changed to 'info' button to view SGF info; move and node
	annotations displayed in status bar
	* gui_dialog.c: load file now works again - starts at beginning not
	end of SGF file on load; added info dialog

2003-03-31 v0.0.8:
	* sgftree.c: removed fixed size buffer from parser - can now
	theoretically handle strings of any length; in practice a 16K cap
	has been set, to avoid crash on accidental attempt to load very
	large file; proper newline and escape handling of Text and
	SimpleText implemented (I hope); fixed bug where no colour values
	were ever being read properly; fixed bug where passes weren't
	being read properly
	* gui_goboard.c: added text widget to display comments, scrollbar
	to read long ones with, code in nav button callbacks to get
	comments out of game struct and display them; fixed horrible crash
	on pass bug
	* sgf.c: now reads C[] properties from move nodes and sends them to
	game struct; now reads PL, AW, AB and AE properties
	* game.c: changed way next colour to move is calculated
	* gui_actions.c: made Save pop up a dialog box; it is now
	identical to Save As

2003-03-30 v0.0.7:
	* sgftree.c: implemented basic SGF FF[4] parser and writer
	* sgf.c: wraps round sgftree, utility functions bridging GUI and
	SGF; can load, save, set data, get data, navigate data etc.
	* gui_menu.c: Save, Save As, New implemented, Close removed. Load
	procrastinated over and eventually implemented.
	* gui_dialog.c: Generic file dialog added for loading and saving
	* game.c: SGF collection added to game struct; initialises self
	with game init
	* gui_goboard.c: SGF navigation forward and back implemented, with
	display of result at end if found and currently grotty looking
	buttons; fixed it so resignation does not trigger score
	calculation attempt which can take ages on near-empty boards
	* aihandle.c: made init_ai more robust to error
	* gui_settings.c: added checks on AI player when set - refuses to
	allow computer players that don't speak GTP
	* piper.c: options string no longer begins with app name

2003-03-25 v0.0.6:
	* gui_goboard.c: added sync_gui_board routine to arbitrarily
	display position in game struct; now only game.c needs to know
	about handicap specifics.
	* game.c: added code to handle fixed handicaps for all boards
	between 9x9 and 19x19; up to 4 stones for even size boards, up to
	9 for odd ones.
	* gui_settings.c: can now set handicap value between 0 and 9,
	except for 1, which is silently rejected; values greater than 4
	are reduced to 4 if boardsize is even
	* talk.c, gtp.c: added support for fixed_handicap gtp command
	* aihandle.c: now tells AI about fixed handicap used
	* gui_settings.c: can now toggle between IGS coordinate style,
	omitting the 'i', and plain style, not omitting it.
	* gui_goboard.c: now defaults to IGS coordinate style

2003-03-19 v0.0.5:
	* gui_settings.c: made settings dialog wider, now less unusable.
	* gui_goboard.c, gui_menu.c: added menu item for AI options.
	* gtp.c: added support for GTP2, protocol_version, clear_board,
	and GTP2 move semantics
	* aihandle.c: test for GTP version and behave accordingly
	* talk.c: replaced GT_GTP1, GT_GTP2 with GT_GTP, and added
	pversion gint to remember what flavour of GTP to talk
	* gui_goboard.c: added GOBAN_PLAYW mode so computer/computer mode
	is now usable

2003-03-17 v0.0.4:
	* game.h: made all white/black pairs of data arrays, added stuff
	for ai settings
	* gui_settings.c: fixed to work with new struct
	* aihandle.c: 'all' dealings with ai players go through
	here. actually just startup and shutdown.
	* gui_goboard.c: works with new struct, handles black or white
	being human or computer, now handles end of game properly and gets
	a final score if available, statusbar rationalised, annoying popup
	dialogs removed
	* gui_settings.c: path and options for ai players separately
	settable for white and black, human/computer togglable for white
	and black, so all combinations thereof should now be possible.
	* goben.c: added proper SIGCHLD handler, so sudden termination of
	an external program shouldn't come as such a surprise to us
	* Makefile.am, configure.in: hacked about with so as to make a
	proper install, using prefix/share/goben/ for pixmaps and rcfile.

2003-03-17 v0.0.3:
	* gtkgoboard.c: fixed all remaining compiler warnings. Seems ok.
	* piper.c: implements a generic pipe/fork/exec thing so we can
	call arbitrary processes connected to us by stdin and stdout.
	* gtp.c: implements a subset of GTP1, enough to play a basic game
	against Gnugo 3.2.
	* talk.c: implements wrapper round GTP1 so we can easily add in
	GMP, GTP2 and whatever other Go protocols we may devise or come
	across.
	* gui_goboard.c: hacked horribly to test the GTP implementation,
	with fixed boardsize, fixed white computer player, fixed black
	human player and other excrescences. But the GTP works.

2003-03-16 v0.0.2
	* gtkgoboard.c: fixed bug in finalize where wrong pixmap was being
	unrefed. hacked fix for premature redraw in update_pixmap
	* gui_settings.c: new settings dialog
	* gui_goboard.c: much hacking around, so UI can be configured
	through settings
	* gui_menu.c: settings dialog also accessible through menu

2003-03-15 v0.0.1
	* Initial implementation. Allows two humans to play, or one
	patient human to play a computer by typing in its moves manually.
	Boardsize currently fixed in game.h, but can be changed by
	changing that.
	* gtkgoboard.c widget is by Changwoo Ryu
